Eros Bilyeu is a licensed Professional Geologist and Certified Hydrogeologist in California with extensive experience conducting hydrogeological investigations and water resources studies across California, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Puerto Rico. He is also a Qualified Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Developer and Practitioner (QSD/QSP), and a Certified Groundwater Professional (CGWP) through the National Groundwater Association.
Mr. Bilyeu began his career in Alabama mapping USGS quadrangles under the STATEMAP/FEDMAP/EDMAP programs. He later joined CH2M Hill, where he supported federal and municipal clients—including NASA, the Navy, the Air Force, and EPA Response Action Contracts (RAC) in Regions 4, 6, and 9—working on numerous Superfund and National Priorities List (NPL) sites.
Mr. Bilyeu has been involved with California’s Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) since its inception in 2014, developing one of the first hydrogeologic models for a Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP). He specializes in:
Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) well siting, design, and evaluation
Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) project planning
Potable supply well design and rehabilitation
Groundwater flow modeling (conceptual and numerical)
Well and aquifer testing
Groundwater budgeting and safe yield assessments
Agency and stakeholder presentations
He has led efforts for Metropolitan Water District member agencies such as Eastern Municipal Water District and Calleguas Municipal Water District, and contributed to ASR and modeling updates for Fox Canyon and Grimes Canyon aquifers in Ventura County.
While at CH2M Hill, Mr. Bilyeu collaborated with Dr. John Cherry (University of Guelph/Waterloo) and local experts in Ventura County. His projects included:
Characterizing fractured turbidite units at the Santa Susana Field Laboratory
Karst aquifer investigations at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center
Groundwater resource development in rural communities across California, Texas, and New Mexico
Mr. Bilyeu is experienced working in rural communities, specifically in California, Texas, and New Mexico with water supply investigations and developing hydrogeological conceptual models to help bolster the water supply and future water supply.
